Avraham again took a wife. Her name was Keturah.

Then again Avraham took a wife, and her name was Qetura.

And Abraham married again, a woman [Hagar], who was called Keturah.

She bore him Zimran, Yokshon, Medan, Midian, Yishbok, and Shuach.

And she bore him Zimran, and Yoqshan, and Medan, and Midyan, and Yishbaq, and Shuaĥ.

And she bore unto him Zimran and Yakshan and Medan and Midyan and Yishbak and Shuach.

Yokshon fathered Shevah and Dedan. The sons of Dedan were Ashurim, Letushim and Leumim.

And Yoqshan begot Sheva, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Ashshurim, and Letushim, and Le᾽ummim.

And Yakshan begot Sheva and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were [the heads of the peoples:] Ashurim, Letushim, and Leumim.

The sons of Midian were Eiphah, Eipher, Chanoch, Avidah and Eldoah. All these were children of Keturah.

And the sons of Midyan; ῾Efa and ῾Efer, and Ḥanokh, and Avida, and Elda῾a. All these were the children of Qetura.

And the sons of Midyan: Eifah and Efer and Chanoch and Avida and Elda'ah — all these the sons of Keturah.

Avraham gave all that he possessed to Yitzchok.

And Avraham gave all that he had to Yiżĥaq.

And Abraham gave all that he had [i.e., the legacy of blessing] to Isaac.

To the sons of the concubines that Avraham had, Avraham gave gifts. He sent them away from Yitzchok, his son, while he [Avraham] was still alive. [He sent them] eastward to the Land of the East.

But to the sons of the concubines, which Avraham had, Avraham gave gifts, and sent them away from his son, while he yet lived, eastward, to the east country.

And to the sons of the concubine [Hagar] which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts. And he sent them away from Isaac his son, while he was still alive, eastward, to the land of the east.

These are the days of the years of Avraham which he lived, one hundred years, seventy years and five years.

And these are the days of the years of Avraham’s life which he lived, a hundred and seventy five years.

And these are the years of Abraham's life, which he lived: a hundred years and seventy years, and five years. [A hundred like seventy, and seventy like five — without sin.]

Avraham expired and died in a good old age, old and satisfied, and he was gathered to his people.

Then Avraham expired, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.

And Abraham expired, and he died in a good old age, old and content; and he was gathered to his people.

His sons Yitzchok and Yishmael buried him in the Machpeilah cave, in the field of Ephron, son of Tzochar, the Chitite, which faces Mamrei.

And his sons Yiżĥaq and Yishma᾽el buried him in the cave of Makhpela, in the field of ῾Efron the son of Żoĥar the Ḥittite, which is before Mamre;

And Isaac and Ishmael his sons buried him [(Ishmael, having repented, granting precedence to Isaac)] in the doubled cave in the field of Efron the son of Tzochar, which is before Mamre.

[This was] the field that Avraham purchased from the sons of Cheis. Avraham and his wife, Sarah, were buried there.

the field which Avraham purchased of the sons of Ḥet: there was Avraham buried, and Sara his wife.

The field which Abraham bought from the sons of Cheth. There was Abraham buried, and Sarah, his wife.

After Avraham died, Elohim blessed his son Yitzchok. Yitzchok lived near Be’er Lachai Ro’i.

And it came to pass after the death of Avraham, that God blessed his son Yiżĥaq; and Yiżĥaq dwelt by Be᾽er-laĥay-ro᾽i.

And it was, after the death of Abraham, that G d blessed Isaac his son [(the mourners' consolation)]. And Isaac dwelt at Be'er Lachai Ro'i.

These are the descendants of Yishmael son of Avraham, whom Hagar, the Egyptian, Sarah’s slave, bore to Avraham.

Now these are the generations of Yishma᾽el, Avraham’s son, whom Hagar the Miżrian, Sara’s handmaid, bore to Avraham:

And these are the progeny of Ishmael, the son of Abraham, whom Hagar the Egyptian, the bondswoman of Sarah, bore to Abraham.

These are the names of Yishmael’s sons, by their names according to their birth. Nevayos was Yishmael’s first born, [he also had] Keidar, Adbeil and Mivsom,

and these are the names of the sons of Yishma᾽el, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Yishma᾽el, Nevayot; and Qedar, and Adbe᾽el, and Mivsam,

And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael by their names in order of birth: the first-born of Ishmael — Nevayoth — and Kedar, and Adbel, and Mivsam.

Mishma, Dumah and Masa,

and Mishma, and Duma, and Massa,

And Mishma and Suma and Massa.

Chadad, Teima, Yetur, Nofish and Keidmah.

Ḥadad, and Tema, Yetur, Nafish, and Qedema.

Chadad and Tema, Yetur, Nafish, and Kedmah.

These are the sons of Yishmael, and these are their names in their open villages and in their fortified strongholds, twelve princes in their nations.

These are the sons of Yishma᾽el, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their encampments; twelve princes according to their nations.

These are the sons of Ishmael and these are their names, by their courts [unwalled cities] and by their strongholds — twelve princes according to their nations.

These are the years of Yishmael’s life, one hundred years, thirty years and seven years. He expired and died and was gathered to his people.

And these are the years of the life of Yishma᾽el, a hundred and thirty seven years: and he expired and died; and was gathered to his people.

And these are the years of the life of Ishmael: a hundred years, and thirty years, and seven years. And he expired [in righteousness] and he died, and he was gathered to his people.

They lived from Chavilah to Shur, which borders on Egypt, going towards Asshur. He lived in the presence of all his brethren.

And they dwelt from Ḥavila to Shur, that is before Miżrayim, as thou goest toward Ashshur: and he dwelt in the presence of all his brethren.

And they dwelt from Chavilah until Shur, which is before Egypt on the way to Ashur. In the presence of all his brethren he dwelt.

And these are the descendants of Yitzchok son of Avraham. Avraham was the father of Yitzchok.

And these are the generations of Yiżĥaq, Avraham’s son: Avraham begot Yiżĥaq:

And these [(Jacob and Esau)] are the progeny of Isaac the son of Abraham. Abraham begot Isaac [i.e., After he was called "Abraham," he begot Isaac].

Yitzchok was forty years old when he took Rivkah, the daughter of Besueil, the Aramite, of Padan Aram, sister of Lavan, the Aramite, for a wife.

and Yiżĥaq was forty years old when he took Rivqa to wife, the daughter of Betu᾽el the Arammian of Paddan-aram, the sister to Lavan the Arammian.

And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rivkah the daughter of Bethuel the Aramite [(an evildoer)] from Padan Aram [(a place of evildoers)], the sister of Lavan the Aramite [(an evildoer)] to himself as a wife, [(Rivkah retaining her integrity in spite of the above associations)].

Yitzchok prayed to Adonoy across from his wife, for she was barren. Adonoy granted his prayer and his wife, Rivkah, conceived.

And Yiżĥaq entreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the Lord was entreated of him, and Rivqa his wife conceived.

And Isaac entreated the L rd, [praying] opposite his wife, for she was barren. And the L rd was entreated of him, [(but not of her, the prayer of a righteous child of a wicked father not being comparable to that of a righteous child of a righteous father)], and Rivkah his wife conceived.

The children clashed inside her, and [when this happened] she said, If this is so, why did I desire this? She [then] went to inquire of Adonoy.

And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of the Lord.

And the children wrangled within her, and she said: If so [great is the pain of pregnancy], why (did) I [so much desire and pray for] this? And she went [to the school of Shem] to inquire of the L rd [as to what was portended for her.]

Adonoy said to her, Two nations are in your womb, and two Kingdoms will separate from within you. One government will be mightier than the other, but the greater one will serve the smaller one.

And the Lord said to her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two peoples shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.

And the L rd said to her [through Shem]: Two nations are in your womb, and two kingdoms from your innards shall part, [one to do evil, the other to do good], and one kingdom shall gain strength from the other, [i.e., As one falls, the other shall rise], and the elder shall serve the younger.

When her days of pregnancy were completed, behold, there were twins in her womb.

And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.

And her days were filled to give birth, and, behold, there were twins in her womb.

The first one came out with a reddish complexion, covered completely with what was like a hairy robe, and they named him Eisov.

And the first came out red, all over like a hairy garment; and they called his name ῾Esav.

And the first one came out ruddy, all like a hairy cloak, and they called his name Esau ["all made" (i.e., complete)].

After that his brother came out, his hand grasping the heel of Eisov, and he [Yitzchok] named him Yaakov. Yitzchok was sixty years old when she [Rivkah] gave birth to them.

And after that came out his brother, and his hand took hold on ῾Esav’s heel; and his name was called Ya῾aqov: and Yiżĥaq was sixty years old when she bore them.

And after his brother went out, his hand grasping Esau's heel (akev), [(portending his seizure of Esau's kingdom before its consummation)], and he called his name Yaakov. And Isaac was sixty years old when she bore them.

The lads grew up. Eisov became a skilled trapper, a man of the field. Yaakov was a wholesome man, living in tents.

And the boys grew: and ῾Esav was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Ya῾aqov was a plain man, dwelling in tents.

And when the youths grew up, Esau became a man versed in deception, a man of the field [i.e., a hunter], and Jacob a whole (-hearted) man, a dweller of tents [i.e., of (the schools of) Shem and Ever].

Yitzchok loved Eisov because he ate of his trappings, but Rivkah loved Yaakov.

And Yiżĥaq loved ῾Esav, for he relished his venison: but Rivqa loved Ya῾aqov.

And Isaac loved Esau, for [Esau "placed"] venison in his mouth, and Rivkah loved Jacob.

Yaakov was simmering a pottage when Eisov came in from the field, exhausted.

And Ya῾aqov cooked pottage: and ῾Esav came from the field, and he was faint:

And Jacob cooked a pottage, and Esau came from the field and he was faint [with murder.]

Eisov said to Yaakov, Please give me a swallow of this red [pottage], for I am exhausted. He was therefore named Edom [Red].

and ῾Esav said to Ya῾aqov, Give me to swallow, I pray thee, of that red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom (red).

And Esau said to Jacob: "Pour down (my throat) some of this red (adom) red stuff, for I am faint" — wherefore his name was called Edom.

Yaakov said, As of this day, sell your birthright to me.

And Ya῾aqov said, Sell me this day thy birthright.

And Jacob said: Sell [as "clearly"] as the day [is clear] your birthright to me. [An evildoer such as you is not worthy of the sacrificial service (which is the prerogative of the first-born.)]

Eisov said, Here I am going to die, what [good] is this birthright to me.

And ῾Esav said, Behold, I am at the point of death, and what profit shall this birthright do to me?

And Esau said: Behold, I am going to die. What need have I, then, of this birthright?

Yaakov said, Swear to me as of this day. He swore to him, and sold his birthright to Yaakov.

And Ya῾aqov said, Swear to me this day; and he swore to him: and he sold his birthright to Ya῾aqov.

And Jacob said: Swear to me as the day [is clear]. And he swore to him, and he sold his birthright to Jacob.

Yaakov then gave Eisov bread and a pottage of lentils. He [Eisov] ate and drank, got up and left. [Thus] Eisov scorned the birthright.

Then Ya῾aqov gave ῾Esav bread and pottage of lentils; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus ῾Esav despised the birthright.

And Jacob gave to Esau bread and a pottage of lentils. And he ate, and he drank, and he arose, and he went, and [(Scripture testifying to this effect)] Esau shamed the birthright.
