Yoseif could not contain his emotions in the presence of all who stood before him, and he cried out Let everyone leave my presence. No man remained with him, when Yoseif made himself known to his brothers.
Then Yosef could not restrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And no man stood with him, while Yosef made himself known to his brethren.
And Joseph could not tolerate all [i.e., the Egyptians] standing over him [and witnessing his brothers' shame in his revealing himself to them], and he called: "Take out every man from my presence!" And no man stood with him when Joseph revealed himself to his brothers.
He wept aloud, and the Egyptians heard about it, and the house of Pharaoh [also] heard.
And he wept aloud: and Miżrayim and the house of Par῾o heard.
And he raised his voice in weeping, and (the men of) Egypt heard it, and the household of Pharaoh heard it.
Yoseif said to his brothers, I am Yoseif, is my father still alive? His brothers could not answer him for they were shocked at his presence.
And Yosef said to his brethren, I am Yosef: does my father yet live? And his brothers could not answer him; for they were terrified at his presence.
And Joseph said to his brothers: "I am Joseph. Is my father still alive?" And his brothers could not answer him, for they were confounded [with shame] before him.
[Then] Yoseif said to his brothers, Please come close to me. They came close [to him] and he said, I am Yoseif your brother, whom you sold into Egypt.
And Yosef said to his brothers, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Yosef your brother, whom you sold into Miżrayim.
And Joseph said to his brothers, [seeing them recoiling from him in shame]: "Draw near to me, I pray you." And they drew near, and he said, [showing them his circumcision]: I am Joseph your brother, whom you sold to Egypt.
Now do not worry, and do not be angry with yourselves that you sold me here; for it was to preserve life that Elohim sent me [here] before you.
Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that you sold me here: for God did send me before you to preserve life.
And now, do not be grieved, and do not vex yourselves that you sold me here, because for sustenance did G d send me before you.
For it is [now] two years that there has been famine in the land; and for another five years there will be no plowing or harvest.
For these two years has the famine been in the land: and there are five more years, in which there shall neither be ploughing nor harvest.
For two years have passed thus far of the [years of] famine in the midst of the land, and five years are yet to come in which there will be neither plowing nor harvest.
Elohim sent me [here] before you to insure your survival in the land, and to keep you alive for a great deliverance.
And God sent me before you to preserve you a remnant in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.
And G d has sent me before you to provide for you a remnant in the land and to keep you in life for a great deliverance.
Now [then] it was not you that sent me here, but Elohim; and He has made me as a father to Pharaoh, and master of all his house, and ruler over all the land of Egypt.
So now it was not you that sent me here, but God: and He has made me a father to Par῾o, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Miżrayim.
And now, it is not you who sent me here, but G d. And He made me a "father" [a friend and patron] to Pharaoh and a master to all his house, and a ruler throughout the land of Egypt.
Hurry, go up to my father and tell him: this is what your son, Yoseif, says, Elohim has made me master of all Egypt. Come down to me, do not delay.
Hasten, and go up to my father, and say to him, Thus says thy son Yosef, God has made me lord of all Miżrayim: come down to me, do not delay:
Hasten and go up to my father [(Eretz Yisrael is the highest of all the lands)], and say to him: Thus said your son Joseph: G d has made me master of all Egypt — come down to me; do not wait.
You will dwell in the land of Goshen, and you will be close to me—you, your children, your grandchildren, your sheep, your cattle and all that you own.
and thou shalt dwell in the land of Goshen, and thou shalt be near me, thou, and thy children, and thy children’s children, and thy flocks, and thy herds, and all that thou hast:
And you will sit in the land of Goshen, and you will be near to me, you and your children and your children's children, and your flocks and your herds and all that you have.
I will provide for you there, since there will be another five years of famine; lest you become impoverished together with your household and all that is yours.
and there will I nourish thee; for there are still five years of famine; lest thou, and thy household, and all that thou hast, come to poverty.
And I will provide for you there. For five years of famine yet remain — lest you and your household and all that you have become impoverished.
Behold, your eyes see it along with my brother Binyomin’s eyes, that I speak to you with my own mouth.
And, behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Binyamin, that it is my mouth that speaks to you.
And, behold, your eyes see and the eyes of my brother Benjamin [(Just as I bear no rancor towards Benjamin, who was not a party to my being sold, so I bear none towards you)] that [I am honored and that I am circumcised as you are, and that] the mouth that speaks to you [speaks in the holy tongue].
Tell my father of all my honor in Egypt, and all that you saw. Hurry and bring my father down here.
And you shall tell my father of all my glory in Miżrayim, and of all that you have seen: and you shall hasten and bring down my father here.
And tell my father of all my glory in Egypt and of all that you have seen. And hasten and bring down my father here.
He [then] fell upon his brother Binyomin’s neck and wept, and Binyomin wept upon his neck.
And he fell on his brother Binyamin’s neck, and wept; and Binyamin wept on his neck.
And he fell on the neck of his brother Benjamin, and he wept [over the two Temples that were destined to be in the portion of Benjamin, which would be destroyed], and Benjamin wept on his neck, [over the sanctuary of Shiloh, that was destined to be in the portion of Joseph, which would be destroyed.]
He kissed all his brothers and wept upon [their necks]. After that his brothers spoke with him.
And he kissed all his brethren, and wept on them: and after that his brethren talked with him.
And he kissed all his brothers and he wept upon them, and afterwards, [i.e., after they saw him weeping and well disposed towards them,] his brothers spoke with him, [having been ashamed to do so previously].
The news was heard in Pharaoh’s house that Yoseif’s brothers had come. This was good [news] in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of his servants.
And the report was heard in Par῾o’s house, saying, Yosef’s brethren are come: and it pleased Par῾o well, and his servants.
And the news reached the house of Pharaoh: "The brothers of Joseph have come." And it was good in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of his servants.
Pharaoh said to Yoseif, Tell your brothers to do this: load up your beasts, and go and enter the land of Canaan.
And Par῾o said to Yosef, Say to thy brethren, Do this: load your beasts, and go, get you to the land of Kena῾an;
And Pharaoh said to Joseph: Tell your brothers: Do this. Load your beasts [with grain], and go to the land of Canaan.
Bring your father and your households and come to me; and I will give you the best of the land of Egypt. You will eat of the fat of the land.
and take your father and your households, and come to me: and I will give you the good of the land of Miżrayim, and you shall eat the fat of the land.
And take your father and your households and come to me, and I will give you the best of the land of Egypt [Goshen], and you will eat the fat of the land.
Now you are commanded [to order (your) brothers to] do the following: Take wagons from the land of Egypt for your little ones and for your wives. Bring your father and come.
Now thou art commanded, do this; take wagons out of the land of Miżrayim for your little ones, and for your wives, and bring your father, and come.
And you have been commanded [by me to tell them]: Do this: Take for yourselves from the land of Egypt wagons for your little ones and for your wives, and take your father and come.
Do not be concerned with your belongings, for the best of Egypt is yours,
Also give no thought to your goods; for the good of all the land of Miżrayim is yours.
And let your eyes not begrudge your goods, for the best of all the land of Egypt is yours.
The sons of Yisrael did so. Yoseif gave them wagons by order of Pharaoh, and he gave them provisions for the journey.
And the children of Yisra᾽el did so: and Yosef gave them wagons, according to the commandment of Par῾o, and gave them provision for the way.
And the children of Israel did so, and Joseph gave them wagons at Pharaoh's bidding, and he gave them provision for the way.
To each of them, he gave a change of clothing. To Binyomin he gave three hundred silver pieces and five changes of clothing.
To all of them he gave each man changes of clothing; but to Binyamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver, and five changes of clothing.
To all of them he gave, to each man, changes of clothing, and to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver and five changes of clothing.
To his father he sent the following: Ten male donkeys loaded with the best of Egypt, and ten female donkeys loaded with grain, bread, and food for his father for the journey.
And to his father he sent after this manner; ten asses laden with the good things of Miżrayim and ten she asses laden with corn and bread and food for his father by the way.
And to his father he sent according to this (count): ten asses carrying of the good of Egypt [(old wine, of which old men are especially fond)], and ten she-asses carrying grain and bread and relish for his father for the road.
He sent his brothers off and they went. He said to them, Do not be troubled along the way.
So he sent his brethren away, and they departed: and he said to them, See that you do not fall out by the way.
And he sent his brothers and they went. And he said to them: Do not quarrel on the way, [fearing that in their shame over having sold him, they might come to accuse one another of having instigated the act.]
They went up from Egypt, and they came to the land of Canaan, to their father Yaakov.
And they went up out of Miżrayim, and came to the land of Kena῾an to Ya῾aqov their father,
And they went up from Egypt and they came to the land of Canaan to Jacob their father.
They told him saying, Yoseif is still alive, and he is ruler of all the land of Egypt. His [Yaakov’s] heart stood still, for he could not believe them.
and told him, saying, Yosef is still alive, and he is governor over all the land of Miżrayim. And his heart fainted, for he believed them not.
And they told him: Joseph is still alive, and [they told him] that he was the ruler over all the land of Egypt; and his heart faltered, for he did not believe them.
They told him all the words of Yoseif which he had spoken to them, and he saw the wagons that Yoseif had sent to carry him. [Then] the spirit of their father Yaakov was revived.
And they told him all the words of Yosef, which he had said to them: and when he saw the wagons which Yosef had sent to carry him, the spirit of Ya῾aqov their father revived:
And they spoke to him all the words of Joseph that he spoke to them and he saw the wagons (agaloth) that Joseph sent to take him [(a "sign" of Joseph to his father — "eglah (like agalah) arufah" (see Deuteronomy 21) having been Joseph's study when he took leave of his father)]; and the spirit of Jacob their father revived. [The Shechinah, which had departed from him, again reposed upon him.]
Yisrael said, It is too much ! My son Yoseif still lives. I will go and see him before I die.
and Yisra᾽el said, It is enough; Yosef my son is still alive: I will go and see him before I die.
And Israel said: Much [joy still awaits me since] my son Joseph still lives. I shall go and see him before I die.
