Now when Yehoram was taken over the kingdom of his father, and had strengthened himself, he slew all his brothers with the sword, and also some of the princes of Yisra᾽el.

But the Lord did not desire to destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a lamp to him and to his sons for ever.

Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Yehuda and caused the inhabitants of Yerushalayim to go astray, and drew Yehuda away.

and they came up into Yehuda, and broke into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king’s house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was not a son left him, except Yeho᾽aĥaz, the youngest of his sons.

And it came to pass, that in process of time, after the end of two years, his bowels came out by reasons of his sickness: so he died in great agony. And his people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers.
