And the typical verb with a definite article ה that comes at the beginning of a conditional expression – the ה will have the meaning of אשר (that/which), only that it also indicates that even though it is a conditional ה, it is also a definite article. But the word אשר indicates that it is indefinite.

Leviticus 6:2 says,צו את אהרן ואת בניו לאמר זאת תורת העלה הוא העלה על מוקדה על המזבח כל הלילה עד הבקר ואש המזבח תוקד בו (Command Aaron and his sons, saying: This is the law of the burnt-offering: it is that which goes up on its firewood upon the altar all night unto the morning; and the fire of the altar shall be kept burning thereby), using the language העלה על מוקדה for “that which goes up”. Rule 106 applies to this example²¹⁷.
