במאמר שנזכר שם הפועל ושם הפעול בפירוש – לא יבוא שם הפעול לפני שם הפועל, ויש בו דרוש תמיד.כמו שדרשו חז"ל מה שכתוב "כאכל קש לשון אש" (ישעיהו ה, כד), "אבנים שחקו מים" (איוב יד, יט). וכן מה שכתוב "ויקרא אל משה…השם". (ויקרא ס' ד)
In an expression in which the subject and the object are mentioned explicitly – the object will never precede the subject, and there will always be a homiletical interpretation when this rule is violated, as when the sages of blessed memory interpret when it is written,כאכל קש לשון אש (as the tongue of fire devours the stubble)²⁴⁷, אבנים שחקו מים (The waters wear the stones)²⁴⁸, and when it is written ויקרא אל משה..השם (and the LORD called to Moses, and spoke to him)²⁴⁹.
