וגם יבדלו במה שזה מתכונת הפועל וזה מתכונת מקבל פעולה. יֵאָכל, בנפעל, לחייב המאכיל לאחרים (שמיני ס' פז. שמיני ס' קסב). וכן בא לאסור בהנאה, ור"ל אף שיֵאָכל על ידו (שמיני ס' פה). "יעשה מלאכה בהם" – ולא העושה מלאכה באחרים. (שמיני ס' קכא)

And also, there is a distinction between whether it has an active voice conjugation or a passive voice conjugation: יֵאָכל (be eaten), in passive voice, means that one is obligated not to feed others forbidden food. And moreover, it comes to prohibit for benefit, and it means to say even if it is eaten by him. יעשה מלאכה בהם (And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherewith any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the evening; then shall it be clean)⁵³ – and not where the work is done with others.
