בנין הכבד יורה לפעמים הפך הפעל כמו "ודִשנו את המזבח". וגם יש לו הוראה על התמדת הפעולה – שׁוֹבֵר מְשׁבֵּר, מוֹלִיד מְיַלֵּד – כדעת רש"י. (קדושים ס' עב)
בנין הכבד (intensive conjugation) sometimes informs of the opposite of the meaning of the verb, as ודִשנו את המזבח (And they shall take away the ashes from the altar)⁵⁹.

And also it informs of the persistence of the action - שׁוֹבֵר מְשׁבֵּר, מוֹלִיד מְיַלֵּד – according to Rabbi Solomon Yitzchaki (Rashi).
The word ודִשנו means “fertilize”, but in Numbers 4:13,ודִשנו את המזבחmeans “take away”.
