ויש הבדל בין "הגר בתוככם" ובין "הגר אתכם". שלשון "הגר אתכם" בא על מי שנתגייר מקרוב, ולשון "הגר בתוככם" מורה שנתגייר זה ימים רבים. וכן לשון "גר בישראל" מורה שגר מכבר. (אחרי ס' עה. קדושים ס' פא, קדושים ס' פג)

And there is a difference between הגר בתוככם and הגר אתכם (the stranger that resides among you): The language הגר אתכם comes on someone who converted now, while the language הגר בתוככם teaches that he was converted this many days ago. And moreover, the language גר בישראל (convert in Israel) teaches that he converted long ago.
