וכשאמר "שנה בשנה" פירושו שיכול לכנס משנה לחברתה. וזה מבדיל בינו ובין "שנה שנה", בלא אות היחוס שבא להוראת הכללות ופירושו בכל שנה. (צו סימן טז):

And when it says שנה בשנה (As a servant hired year by year shall he be with him)⁶⁰², it means that one is able to enter from the middle of a calendar year to the following calendar year. And this is distinguished from שנה שנה, without the prefix, which comes to teach inclusion and means in all of a year.
