יש הבדל בין פת ובין לחם. "לחם" הוא השלם ונקרא בכמה שמות לויי לפי צורתו – ככר לחם, חלה, רקיק, מצה. אבל פת הוא הבלתי שלם (ויקרא ס' קכד).

There is a difference between פת and לחם (bread): לחם is whole and is called by several particular names, according to its form - ככר לחם (loaf of bread), חלה (bread used on Sabbath and festivals), רקיק (biscuit), מצה (unleavened bread). But פת is not whole.
