יש הבדל בין עין ובין מעין. ה'עין' הוא הנמצא בעמק קודם שיתפשטו המים חוצה, וה'מעיין' מציין נביעת המים לחוץ.
There is a difference between עין and מעין (spring) – The עין is found in a valley before the water gushes out, while מעין indicates water gushing to the outside.
ויש הבדל בין מעין ובין באר. שה'באר' בעומק ולא המעיין.
And there is a difference between מעין (spring) and באר (well). A באר is deep but not a מעין.
