The words רר , רק , זב , נטף , נזל:
שם "רר" ושם "רק" הונחו על הרוק הנוטף מן הפה. ו"רק" נקרא בעת שמריקו ומשליכו בכח, וה"ריר" נוטף מאליו.
The noun רר (drool) and the noun רק (spit) refer to the saliva that drips from the mouth. And it is called רק in a time when it is emptied and expelled with force, while רר drips on its own.
ו"רר" מובדל מן "זב". ש"רר" מיוחד אל הנוטף מן הגוף לבד, ו"זב" כולל כל דבר לח הזב וניגר.
And רר is different from זב (drip), in that רר means dripping from the body alone, while זב includes any moist matter that drips and flows.
ו"זב" נבדל מן הנוזל וניגר. שה"זב" היא טיפים טיפים ו"הנוזל והניגר" הוא בשפע.
And זב is distinguished from הנוזל and ניגר (flow) in that זב comes in little drops, while הנוזל והניגר come in abundance.
בכל זאת, טיפי הזב והרר סמוכים זה לזה, והנוטף הוא טיפים מופסקים זה מזה.(מצורע סימן קכו)
Nevertheless, the drops of זב and רר are close to one another, while the drops of נוטף (dripping) stop one after another.
