There is a difference between עץ מאכל (tree for food) and עץ פרי (fruit tree): עץ מאכל means that it will be special for eating, not for a fence or for beams of wood.
ויש הבדל בין פרי ובין תבואה. ש'פרי' כולל גם בעודו במעמד הגידול אבל 'תבואה' היא הנגמרת. (קדושים סימן סט. בהר סימן ה, וסימן יא)

And there is a difference between פרי (fruit) and תבואה (grain): פרי also includes fruit while still in the status of growth, but תבואה is finished growing.
