פעל 'בקר' בא על המעיין על הדבר לדעת טבעו ותכונתו. ויש 'ביקור' הגיוני שהיו מבקרים את הנלקה בבית דין ומודיעים חטאו על ידי קריאה (קדושים ס' נד).
The verb בקר (investigation) comes on the origin of the matter, to know its nature and its character. And there is logical ביקור in which they investigate a person getting hit in court and inform of his sin through a reading.
ולא יצדק 'ביקור' על הדרישה והחיפוש אם נמצא הדבר; רק על העיון בדבר הנמצא (תזריע ס' קלה).
And ביקור is not correct with respect to an investigation as to whether a matter is real; it is only correct with respect to the study of a matter that is known to be real.
