יש הבדל בין אחר ובין אחרי. שמלת "אחר" מורה סמיכת הדבר אחר דבר קודם לו, ומלת "אחרי" מורה שקדם לו דברים שונים וזמנים רבים.
There is a difference between אחר and אחרי (after): The word אחר teaches the consecutiveness of the matter after a matter preceding it, while the word אחרי teaches that preceding it were various matters and many times.
ויש הבדל בין אחר ובין אחר כן ובין אחרי כן.
And there is a difference between אחר and אחר כן and אחרי כן:
שמלת "אחר" היא אחר דבר אחד,
The word אחר means after one matter.
ומלת "אחר כן" היא אחר דברים רבים שנזכר בענין ומוכרחים אל הדבר,

ומלת "אחרי כן" מורה אחר דברים רבים שלא נזכר בענין ואין מוכרחים אל הדבר ההוא (מצורע ס' לג, וסימן ס, וסימן פו, וסימן קצג)
The word אחרי כן teaches after many matters which were not mentioned in a topic and do not pertain to that matter.
