Adonoy spoke to Moshe and Aharon, saying.
And the Lord spoke to Moshe and to Aharon, saying,
And the L-rd spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying:
This is the statute of the Torah which Adonoy commanded, saying; speak to Bnei Yisroel that they shall take to you a red, perfect cow without a blemish, upon which no yoke was laid.
This is the ordinance of the Tora which the Lord has commanded, saying, Speak to the children of Yisra᾽el, that they bring thee a red heifer without defect, in which there is no blemish, and upon which never came a yoke:
[(In anticipation of the taunts of the gentiles as to the seemingly arbitrary nature of this mitzvah:) This is the statute [i.e., decree] of the Torah [(You are not given license to seek its rationale)], which the L-rd has commanded, saying: Speak to the children of Israel and they shall take unto you [(It shall always be called by your name, viz., "the red heifer that Moses 'processed' in the desert")], a red heifer, whole [in its redness (two black hairs invalidate it)], which does not have a blemish, upon which a yoke has not come.
Give it to Elozor the kohein; he shall take it outside the camp, and someone shall slaughter it in his presence.
and you shall give her to El῾azar the priest, that he may bring her outside the camp, and she shall be slaughtered before his face:
And you shall give it to Elazar the Cohein [(Its mitzvah is by agency of the adjutant high-priest)]. And he shall take it outside the encampment [i.e., outside the three camps] and he [a non-priest] shall slaughter it before him [i.e., Elazar looking on].
Elozor the kohein shall take some of its blood with his finger and sprinkle it directly facing the Tent of Meeting, some of its blood seven times.
and El῾azar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood towards the front of the Tent of Meeting seven times:
And Elazar the Cohein shall take of its blood with his finger, and he shall sprinkle of its blood opposite the face of the tent of meeting seven times. [He stands in the east of Jerusalem and directs his gaze to the door of the sanctuary while sprinkling.]
Someone shall burn the cow in his presence; its skin, flesh, blood, with its waste (that are in its intestines) shall be burned.
and the heifer shall be burnt in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall be burnt:
And he shall burn the heifer before his eyes. Its skin, and its flesh, and its blood, together with its dung, he shall burn.
The kohein shall take a piece of cedar wood, hyssop, and crimson wool, and throw them into the burning of the cow.
and the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.
And the Cohein shall take cedar wood, and hyssop and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.
Then the kohein shall wash his garments and bathe his body in water, and afterwards he may enter the camp; [however,] the kohein shall be impure until the evening.
Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterwards he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the evening.
And the Cohein shall wash his garments, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and then he may come into the encampment [of the Shechinah (whence he had been excluded)], and the Cohein shall be unclean until the evening [i.e., he shall be unclean until the evening and then he may come into the encampment.]

And he that burns her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the evening.
And he who burns it shall wash his garments with water and bathe his flesh in water, and he shall be unclean until the evening.

A ritually clean person shall gather the cow’s ashes and place [it] outside the camp in a clean place; it shall remain a keepsake for the community of Bnei Yisroel for sprinkling water for purification.
And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them outside the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Yisra᾽el for the water of sprinkling: it is a purification offering.
And a man who is clean shall gather the ashes of the heifer and place it outside the encampment in a clean place. And it shall be for the congregation of the children of Israel in keeping for waters of sprinkling; it is for cleansing.
