Adonoy spoke to Moshe, saying:

And the Lord spoke to Moshe, saying,

And the L-rd spoke to Moses, saying:

“Instruct Bnei Yisroel and say to them: ‘When you come to the land of Canaan, this is the land which will fall to you as hereditary property, the land of Canaan according to its borders.

Command the children of Yisra᾽el, and say to them, When you come into the land of Kena῾an; (this is the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, the land of Kena῾an with its borders:)

Command the children of Israel and say to them: When you come to the land, Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you [by lot] for an inheritance, the land of Canaan, by its borders: [(Because many mitzvoth obtain in Eretz Yisrael and not outside it, it was necessary to delimit the boundaries exactly.)]

Your southern flank shall be from the Tzin wilderness along [the land of] Edom; the southern border shall be from the edge of the Salt Sea to the east.

then the Negev quarter shall be from the wilderness of Żin along by the border of Edom, and your south border shall be the outmost coast of the Salt Sea eastward:

The south side shall be to you from the desert of Tzin near Edom. And your southern border shall be for you from the eastern edge of the Salt Sea.

The border then turns south of Maaleh Akrabim passing toward Tzin; and its outskirts shall be south of Kadeish Barne’a, and then it shall extend to Chatzar Adar and continue toward Atzmon.

and your border shall turn from the Negev to Ma῾ale-῾aqrabbim, and pass on to Żin: and its limits shall be from the south to Qadesh-barnea, and shall go on to Ḥażar-addar, and pass on to ῾Ażmon:

And the border shall incline for you, [bearing northwest] to the south of Ma'aleh Akrabim [(so that Ma'aleh Akrabim is within the boundary)], and it shall pass on to Tzin. And its edge shall be south of Kadesh Barnea. And it shall go out [continuing northwest] to Chatzar Addar, and it shall pass on to Atzmon.

The border turns from Atzmon toward the Egyptian Estuary and its outskirts shall reach the sea.

and the border shall turn about, from ῾Ażmon to the wadi of Miżrayim, and its limits shall be at the Sea.

And the border shall incline from Atzmon to Nachal Mitzrayim [the southwest corner of the boundary], and its [western] edge shall be at the sea.

As for the western border; it shall be the border of the Great Sea, this shall be your western border.

And as for the western border, you shall have the Great Sea for a border: this shall be your west border.

And [what is] the western border? The Great Sea and the bounds [i.e., the islands within it)] shall be for you. This shall be the western border for you.

This shall be your northern border; from the Great Sea turn yourselves to Hor Hahar.

And this shall be your north border: from the Great Sea you shall mark out your frontier at mount Hor:

And this shall be the northern border for you. From the Great Sea you shall turn for yourselves [from west to north] to Hor Hahar [at the northwest corner, sloping into the sea].

From Hor Hahar turn to Levo Chamas and the outskirts of the border shall be toward Tzedad.

from mount Hor you shall mark out your border to the entrance of Ḥamat; and the limits of the border shall be to Żedad:

From Hor Hahar you shall turn [and bear east (on the northern border)] to the entrance of Chamath [Antioch]; and the edge of the border [on that particular line, before turning backwards to proceed thence in a wider diagonal] shall be to Tzedad.

The border shall then extend toward Zifron, and its outskirts shall be at Chatzar Einan; this shall be your northern border.

and the border shall go on to Zifron, and its limits shall be at Ḥażar-῾enan: this shall be your north border.

And the (northern) border shall go out to Ziphron and its edge [the end of the northern boundary] shall be at Chatzar Einan. This shall be the northern border for you.

You shall turn yourselves toward the eastern border from Chatzar Einan to Shefam.

And you shall point out your east border from Ḥażar-῾enan to Shefam:

And you shall turn for yourselves to the eastern border, from Chatzar Einan to Shefam.

The border shall then descend from Shefam to Rivlah to the east of Ayin; the border shall descend and contact the bank of the eastern shore of the Kineres Sea.

and the border shall go down from Shefam to Rivla, on the east side of ῾Ayin; and the border descend, and shall reach the eastward projection of the Sea of Kinneret:

And the border shall descend from Shefam to Rivlah, east of Ayin [(so that Ayin is within the boundary)]. And the border shall go down and hit the shoulder of the Sea of Kinnereth on the east [(so that the Sea of Kinnereth, to the west, is within the boundary)].

The border shall then descend along the Yardein and its outskirts shall be the Salt (Dead) Sea. This should be your land according to its borders all around.’”

and the border shall go down to the Yarden, and its limits shall be at the Salt Sea: this shall be your land with its borders round about.

And the border shall descend to the Jordan [(which flows southeastwards towards Canaan, junctures at the Kinnereth, and spills into the Salt Sea)]; and its [southeast] edge shall be the Salt Sea. This shall be for you the land, by its borders roundabout.

Moshe instructed Bnei Yisroel, saying: “This is the land which you must distribute as hereditary property by means of a lottery, which Adonoy has commanded to give to the nine and one half tribes.

And Moshe commanded the children of Yisra᾽el, saying, This is the land which you shall inherit by lot, which the Lord commanded to give to the nine tribes, and the half tribe:

And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying: This is the land which you shall take possession of by lot, which the L-rd commanded to give to the nine tribes and the half tribe.

Because the tribe of Reuvein’s descendants, the tribe of Gad’s descendants, and half of the tribe of Menashe have already taken their hereditary property.

for the tribe of the children of Re᾽uven according to the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the house of their fathers, have received their inheritance; and half the tribe of Menashshe have received their inheritance:

For the tribe of the sons of the Reuveni by their fathers' house, and the tribe of the sons of the Gadi by their fathers' house, and half the tribe of Menasheh have taken their inheritance.

These two and one half tribes have taken their hereditary property on this side of the Yardein near Yereicho, to the east, toward the sunrise.”

the two tribes and the half tribe have received their inheritance on this side of the Yarden near Yereĥo eastward, towards the sunrising.

The two tribes and the half tribe have taken their inheritance across the Jordan from Jericho, to the fore [of the world], to the east.

Adonoy spoke to Moshe, saying:

And the Lord spoke to Moshe, saying,

And the L-rd spoke to Moses, saying:

“These are the names of the men who shall inherit the land for you: Elozor the kohein and Yehoshua son of Nun,

These are the names of the men who shall share out the land to you: El῾azar the priest, and Yehoshua the son of Nun.

These are the names of the men who shall possess the land for you, [each chief acting as the representative of his tribe and apportioning the tribe's inheritance by families and individuals, selecting a portion appropriate for each]: Elazar the Cohein and Joshua the son of Nun.

And one leader from each tribe you shall take, to help inherit the land.

And you shall take one prince of every tribe, to divide the land by inheritance.

And one chief, one chief, from a tribe shall you take to possess [and take a share in] the land [in your place].

These are the names of the men: for the tribe of Yehudah, Kaleiv son of Yefuneh.

And the names of the men are these: Of the tribe of Yehuda, Kalev the son of Yefunne.

And these are the names of the men: Of the tribe of Yehudah, Calev ben Yefuneh.

For the tribe of Shimon, Shmuel, son of Amihud.

And of the tribe of the children of Shim῾on, Shemu᾽el the son of ῾Ammihud.

And of the tribe of the sons of Shimon, Shmuel ben Amihud.

For the tribe of Binyamin, Elidad, son of Kislon.

Of the tribe of Binyamin, Elidad the son of Kislon.

And of the tribe of Binyamin, Elidad ben Kislon.

The leader for the tribe of Don, Buki, son of Yogli.

And the prince of the tribe of the children of Dan, Buqqi the son of Yogli.

And of the tribe of the sons of Dan, the chief, Bukki ben Yagli.

For Yoseif’s children, the leader for the tribe of Menashe, Chaniel, son of Eifod.

The prince of the children of Yosef, for the tribe of the children of Menashshe, Ḥanni᾽el the son of Efod.

Of the sons of Joseph, of the tribe of the sons of Menasheh, the chief, Chaniel ben Efod.

The leader for the tribe of Ephraim, Kemuel, son of Shiftan.

And the prince of the tribe of the children of Efrayim, Qemu᾽el the son of Shiftan.

And of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, the chief, Kemuel ben Shiftan.

The leader for the tribe of Zevulun, Elitzafan, son of Parnach.

And the prince of the tribe of the children of Zevulun, Eliżafan the son of Parnakh.

And of the tribe of the children of Zevulun, the chief, Elitzafan ben Parnach.

The leader for the tribe of Yissachar, Paltiel, son of Azan.

And the prince of the tribe of the children of Yissakhar, Palti᾽el the son of ῾Azzan.

And of the tribe of the sons of Yissachar, the chief, Paltiel ben Azan.

The leader for the tribe of Asher, Achihud, son of Shlomi.

And the prince of the tribe of the children of Asher, Aĥihud the son of Shelomi.

And of the tribe of the sons of Asher, the chief, Achihud ben Shlomi.

The leader for the tribe of Naftali, Pedah’eil, son of Amihud.”

And the prince of the tribe of the children of Naftali, Pedah᾽el the son of ῾Ammihud.

And of the tribe of the sons of Naftali, the chief, Pedahel ben Amihud.

These are the ones whom Adonoy commanded to apportion the inheritance to Bnei Yisroel, in the land of Canaan.

These are they whom the Lord commanded to divide the inheritance to the children of Yisra᾽el in the land of Kena῾an.

These are (those) whom the L-rd commanded to effect acquisition [of the land according to its divisions (i.e., families, etc.)] by the children of Israel in the land of Canaan.
