הַ֥לְלוּ־יָ֨הּ**׀** כִּי־ט֭וֹב זַמְּרָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ כִּי־נָ֝עִ֗ים נָאוָ֥ה תְהִלָּֽה׃
Praise the Lord: for it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant; praise is comely.
Hallelukah! [Praise the L rd!] For it is good to sing to our G d. Because He is pleasant, praise becomes [Him].
בּוֹנֵ֣ה יְרוּשָׁלַ֣͏ִם יְהֹוָ֑ה נִדְחֵ֖י יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל יְכַנֵּֽס׃
The Lord builds Yerushalayim: he gathers together the outcasts of Yisra᾽el.
The L rd builds Jerusalem and gathers in the outcasts of Israel.
הָ֭רֹפֵא לִשְׁב֣וּרֵי לֵ֑ב וּ֝מְחַבֵּ֗שׁ לְעַצְּבוֹתָֽם׃
He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds.
He heals the broken-hearted and binds their wounds.
מוֹנֶ֣ה מִ֭סְפָּר לַכּוֹכָבִ֑ים לְ֝כֻלָּ֗ם שֵׁמ֥וֹת יִקְרָֽא׃
He counts the number of the stars; he calls them all by their names.

גָּד֣וֹל אֲדוֹנֵ֣ינוּ וְרַב־כֹּ֑חַ לִ֝תְבוּנָת֗וֹ אֵ֣ין מִסְפָּֽר׃
Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
Great is our L rd, and mighty in power. His understanding is infinite.
מְעוֹדֵ֣ד עֲנָוִ֣ים יְהֹוָ֑ה מַשְׁפִּ֖יל רְשָׁעִ֣ים עֲדֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃
The Lord upholds the humble: he casts the wicked down to the ground.
The L rd heartens the humble. He lowers the wicked to the ground.
עֱנ֣וּ לַֽיהֹוָ֣ה בְּתוֹדָ֑ה זַמְּר֖וּ לֵאלֹהֵ֣ינוּ בְכִנּֽוֹר׃
Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the lyre to our God:
Answer the L rd in thanksgiving; sing to the L rd on the lyre.
הַֽמְכַסֶּ֬ה שָׁמַ֨יִם**׀** בְּעָבִ֗ים הַמֵּכִ֣ין לָאָ֣רֶץ מָטָ֑ר הַמַּצְמִ֖יחַ הָרִ֣ים חָצִֽיר׃
who covers the heaven with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass to grow upon the mountains.
He covers the skies with clouds. He readies rain for the earth. He makes the mountains sprout with grass.
נוֹתֵ֣ן לִבְהֵמָ֣ה לַחְמָ֑הּ לִבְנֵ֥י עֹ֝רֵ֗ב אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִקְרָֽאוּ׃
He gives to the beast its food, and to the young ravens which cry.
He gives the beast its bread; the young of the raven [(who is cruel" to his offspring)] what they cry for.
לֹ֤א בִגְבוּרַ֣ת הַסּ֣וּס יֶחְפָּ֑ץ לֹא־בְשׁוֹקֵ֖י הָאִ֣ישׁ יִרְצֶֽה׃
He delights not in the strength of the horse: he takes no pleasure in the legs of a man.
He desires not [the truster in] the strength of the horse. He desires not [the truster in] the [lightness of the] legs of a man.
רוֹצֶ֣ה יְ֭הֹוָה אֶת־יְרֵאָ֑יו אֶת־הַֽמְיַחֲלִ֥ים לְחַסְדּֽוֹ׃
The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love.
The L rd desires those who fear Him, those who aspire to His lovingkindness.
שַׁבְּחִ֣י יְ֭רוּשָׁלַ͏ִם אֶת־יְהֹוָ֑ה הַֽלְלִ֖י אֱלֹהַ֣יִךְ צִיּֽוֹן׃
Praise the Lord, O Yerushalayim; praise Thy God, O Żiyyon.
Praise the L rd, O Jerusalem! Praise your G d, O Zion!
כִּֽי־חִ֭זַּק בְּרִיחֵ֣י שְׁעָרָ֑יִךְ בֵּרַ֖ךְ בָּנַ֣יִךְ בְּקִרְבֵּֽךְ׃
For he has strengthened the bars of thy gates; he has blessed thy children within thee.
For He has strengthened the bolts of your gates. He has blessed your children in your midst.
הַשָּׂם־גְּבוּלֵ֥ךְ שָׁל֑וֹם חֵ֥לֶב חִ֝טִּ֗ים יַשְׂבִּיעֵֽךְ׃
He makes peace in Thy borders, and fills thee with the finest of the wheat.
He reposes peace in your borders. He sates you with the fats of wheat.
הַשֹּׁלֵ֣חַ אִמְרָת֣וֹ אָ֑רֶץ עַד־מְ֝הֵרָ֗ה יָר֥וּץ דְּבָרֽוֹ׃
He sends forth his commandment upon the earth: his word runs very swiftly.
He sends His word [i.e., rain] earthward; quickly does His word run.
הַנֹּתֵ֣ן שֶׁ֣לֶג כַּצָּ֑מֶר כְּ֝פ֗וֹר כָּאֵ֥פֶר יְפַזֵּֽר׃
He gives snow like wool: he scatters the hoar frost like ashes.
He gives snow as wool. He scatters hoarfrost as ashes.
מַשְׁלִ֣יךְ קַֽרְח֣וֹ כְפִתִּ֑ים לִפְנֵ֥י קָ֝רָת֗וֹ מִ֣י יַעֲמֹֽד׃
He casts forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?
He casts His ice as flakes. Who can stand before His cold?
יִשְׁלַ֣ח דְּבָר֣וֹ וְיַמְסֵ֑ם יַשֵּׁ֥ב ר֝וּח֗וֹ יִזְּלוּ־מָֽיִם׃
He sends out his word, and melts them: he causes his wind to blow: they run as water.
He sends forth His word and He melts them [(the flakes)]. He makes His [west] wind blow and they flow water.
מַגִּ֣יד דְּבָרָ֣ו לְיַעֲקֹ֑ב חֻקָּ֥יו וּ֝מִשְׁפָּטָ֗יו לְיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
He declares his Word to Ya῾aqov, his statutes and his judgments to Yisra᾽el.
He tells His word to Jacob, His statutes and His judgments to Israel.
לֹ֘א־עָ֤שָׂה כֵ֨ן**׀** לְכׇל־גּ֗וֹי וּמִשְׁפָּטִ֥ים בַּל־יְדָע֗וּם הַֽלְלוּ־יָֽהּ׃{פ}
He has not dealt so with any other nation: and as for his ordinances they have not known them. Haleluya!
He has not done so with any nation, and they do not know His judgments, Hallelukah!
