The Koren Jerusalem Bible

I will extol Thee, O Lord; for Thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.

The Rashi Ketuvim by Rabbi Shraga Silverstein

I shall exalt You, O L rd, for You have uplifted me and did not let my foes rejoice over me. [(My foes said that I had no share in the world to come [because of the sin with Bathsheva], but when they saw that the Temple gates would not open to admit the ark until my merits had been invoked [viz. 24:7], they knew that G d had forgiven me.)]

The Koren Jerusalem Bible

O Lord my God, I cried to Thee and Thou hast healed me.

The Rashi Ketuvim by Rabbi Shraga Silverstein

O L rd, my G d, I cried out to You, and You healed me [i.e., forgave me].

O Lord, Thou hast brought up my soul from She᾽ol: Thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.

The Rashi Ketuvim by Rabbi Shraga Silverstein

O L rd, You raised my soul from Sheol; You spared me from descent to the pit [(Gehinnom)].

The Koren Jerusalem Bible

Sing to the Lord, O his pious ones, and give thanks to his holy name.

The Rashi Ketuvim by Rabbi Shraga Silverstein

Sing to the L rd, [you,] His saintly ones, [(for though you be steeped in affliction, you can trust to His goodness [seeing what He has done for me])], and give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness.

For his anger endures but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

The Rashi Ketuvim by Rabbi Shraga Silverstein

For His wrath is [but] a moment; there is [long] life in His conciliation. Weeping shall bed down in the evening; and, in the morning, joy [shall awake]!

The Koren Jerusalem Bible

And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.

Lord, by Thy favour Thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: Thou didst hide Thy face, and I was affrighted.

The Rashi Ketuvim by Rabbi Shraga Silverstein

[But, I found that my tranquility was not mine to command.] O, L rd, in Your favor You set up my mountain [i.e., my greatness] as a stronghold — You hid Your face, and I was confounded!

The Koren Jerusalem Bible

I cried to Thee, O Lord; and to the Lord I made supplication.

The Rashi Ketuvim by Rabbi Shraga Silverstein

To You, O L rd, would I [always] call; to my L rd would I make supplication, [saying:]
