מי שעוצר רוחו ומשפיל עיניו ורוחו מהביט אל נשים ואינו מדבר דברים בטלים וסובל כעסו ואינו מתגאה ועוסק בתורה ובמעשים טובים לעתיד לבא יהיה לפנים ממלאכי השרת עליהם נאמר כעת יאמר ליעקב ולישראל מה פעל אל:
He who restrains his spirit, curbs his eyes and passion from gazing at women, does not engage in banal matters, withstands anger, does not boast, but occupies himself in Torah and good deeds, in the hereafter he will precede the ministering angels. Concerning these individuals it is said, “Now it is said of Jacob and of Israel: What hath God wrought?” (Num. 23:23)¹ ed. Horeb, Numbers, Chapter XX, p. 161.
