“Like a kind of ornament (k’min chomer)”: Rashi explains that this refers to a bundle of pearls or spices that women wear around their necks as an adornment. Rabbeinu Tam, however, interprets chomer as referring to work or actions, and the Arukh similarly explains that in Arabic, when one asks his friend, “What are you doing?” they say, “What is your chomer (your work)?”

“Why is the ear singled out?”:

”[It is taught:] ‘Forever’… One cannot say this refers to the Jubilee year (yovel), because if it did, the verse would have remained silent, and we would derive the law from the field of inheritance (sadeh achuzah). Targum Yonatan (T”Y) explains it differently.
