Equanimity-Hishtavut-השתוות is a very important principle from the Baal Shem Tov, may his memory live on for the world to come. That is, it should be equal-Shaveh-שוה to you whether people consider you to be an ignoramus or knowledgeable in all of Torah. What brings this perspective about is constant adhesion (Dveikut) to HaShem, the Creator, blessed is He. Because your mind is so preoccupied with adhesion to HaShem, you have neither the time nor the interest to think about such matters. For you will be occupied in adhering to HaShem above, blessed is He.
