(דברים יח ה) כִּי בוֹ בָחַר ה׳ אֱלֹהֶיךָ מִכָּל שְׁבָטֶיךָ – מַגִּיד שֶׁאֵין שֵׁרוּת כָּשֵׁר בּוֹ אֶלָּא מֵעוֹמֵד; הָא אִם יָשַׁב וְשֵׁרֵת – עֲבוֹדָתוֹ פְּסוּלָה.

Pisqa’ 167¹⁴⁵
- “For, HASHEM your God chose him from among all your tribes to stand and serve” (Dt. 18:5). This indicates that proper [levitical] service is performed while standing. Therefore, if he served while seated, **his service is disqualified.**¹⁴⁶ 155.1.
