And it shall be, on the day that Gog comes onto the soil of Israel, says the LORD God: My anger will rise up in My nostrils; in My fury, in the fire of My rage, I have spoken: Surely, on that day there will be a great quaking upon the ground of Israel; the fish of the seas and the birds of the sky, the animals of the land, every creeping thing that crawls upon the earth and every man on the face of the earth will quake before Me; the mountains will be demolished, the terraces will collapse, and every wall shall fall to the ground. I will call the sword down on him from all My mountains, says the LORD God: each man’s sword will be turned against his brother. I will call judgment on him with pestilence and blood; I will pour down torrential rain and crystal hailstone, fire and sulphur over him and his troops, and over the many peoples who are with him. And so I will be magnified and sanctified, I will make Myself known in the eyes of many nations – and they will know that I am the LORD. And you, Man, prophesy against Gog and say: so says the LORD God: behold I am against you, Gog, prince, leader of Meshech and Tuval. I will turn you around, I will incite you on, and I will take you from the far-edge of the north and bring you to the mountains of Israel. I will strike your bow from your left hand, I will make the arrows fall from your right; upon the mountains of Israel, you will fall – you and your troops and all the peoples who are with you; I will give you up to the birds of prey, to every winged creature, to the animals of the land, to feed from; upon the open field, you will fall; so have I spoken, says the LORD God. For seven months, the house of Israel will bury them, to purify the land; all the people in the land will bury them, and it will make their name; it will be the day of My glory, says the LORD God. And they will select men to cross the land perpetually, burying those remains that lie upon the ground – with the travelers – to purify it; they will search from the end of seven months, and travelers passing through the land, whenever they see a human bone, will place a sign next to it, until the buriers have buried it in the Valley of the Hordes of Gog. A city will be named Hamona, [for his Hordes]. And so will they purify the land.
