This shiur explains the Alter Rebbe's analysis of the Ra'aya Mehemna passage on the Tree of Life and the Tree of Good and Evil, and the apparent implication that studying the laws of issur v'heter belongs to the Tree of Good and Evil. He raises the difficulties this creates from the Gemara, the Yerushalmi and the Zohar itself.
