And it is not the way of the Scripture to repeat the word אשר, unless the second אשר limits the first אשר and comes without the letter ו. Like אשר יגור בתוכם‏ אשר יעלה עולה או זבח (that sojourn among them, that offer a burnt-offering or sacrifice)²²⁵.

And besides this, the word אשר only comes on the first condition, likeאשר היא מפרסת פרסה ושסע איננה שוסעת (which parts the hoof, but is not cloven footed, nor chews the cud)²²⁶. And from this, it is proven that when it is written הכהן אשר ימשח אותו ואשר ימלא את ידו (And the priest, who shall be anointed and who shall be consecrated to be priest in his father's stead)²²⁷, the letter ו means or. And it is interpreted או אשר (or that), that with this comes the word אשר repeated, likeאשר ישחט במחנה או אשר ישחט חוץ למחנה (that kills an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or that kills it without the camp)²²⁸.
