וכשבא על צד הדיוק – "בני" דוקא, ולא בנות (ויקרא ס' ח) ולא גרים.
In its precise meaning, בני means sons, and not daughters and not proselytes.

And any place where it is written בני ישראל (children of Israel), it needs an amplificatory expression to include women and proselytes, or else the Torah will clarify there explicitly that the law also applies to a proselyte.
