דרך הלשון לציין קישור הזמן על ידי ב' הנלוה אל המקור – "בבואם אל אהל מועד או בגשתם". ולפעמים יציינהו על ידי מילת "בעת".
It is the custom of the language to indicate a connection in time through the prefix ב added to the infinitive - בבואם אל אהל מועד או בגשתם (when they go in to the tent of meeting, or when they come near)⁵⁹⁹. And sometimes, it indicates it through the word בעת.

אולם אם יציינהו על ידי מילת "ביום" – יהיה באחד משני פנים.
However, if it indicates it through the word ביום, it will be in one of two ways:
או שרצה לומר שהוא דוקא ביום ההוא, לא ביום אחר;
- It means to say that it is precisely on that day, not another day.
או שבא במובנו המדויק – יום דוקא, ובא למעט את הלילה (צו ס' מ באורך. ועוד ויקרא ס' שפט, וצו ס' קיד, וסימן קטז, וסימן קנט, וסימן קסב. תזריע ס' ח, וסימן ט, וסימן יא, וסימן ס, וסימן פז, וסימן קכט. מצורע ס' ג, וסימן ה, וסימן לה, וסימן צא, וסימן קיז, וסימן קנג)
- It comes in its precise meaning – precisely day, and it excludes the night.
וכן במקום שנזכר מילת "יום" עם המספר – יום הראשון, יום השביעי – ממעט לילה. (שם, אמור ס' קצה)
And moreover, any place where the word יום is mentioned with the number - יום הראשון , יום השביעי – it will exclude the night.
