כשאמר "יום ביום" פירושו – לפי ענין היום, היינו מעניינא דיומא, והוא קרוב עם "דבר יום ביומו". רק כשאמר "ביומו" פירושו דוקא באותו יום ולא ידחה ליום אחר. וכן "שבת בשבתו". (צו סימן טז)

Whenever it says יום ביום, it means according to the theme of the day, and it is close with דבר יום ביומו (the duty of every day required)⁶⁰⁰. Only when it saysביומו (on its day) does it mean precisely on that same day and that it does not get postponed for another day. And the same with שבת בשבתו (every Sabbath)⁶⁰¹.
