ומשקלי השמות משונים עד לאין קץ; ויש להשקיף עליהם. כי יש הבדל בין המשקלים בכמה פנים (אמור ס' נג).
And the declensions of the nouns change until there is no end. And there are distinctions between them in many ways.
ומצד זה הסתפקו בשם שְׁבֻעַיִם, שיתכן שהוא שם המספר מן 'שבע' ופירושו שבעה כפלים כמו "ארבעתים" – על חד ארבע. וגם דהא שבוע נקבה והיה לו לכתוב שבועות (תזריע ס' יט).
From this perspective, we can be content that the noun שְׁבֻעַיִם(two weeks)¹⁹ is likely from the number שבע (seven) and they interpret it as שבעה כפלים (double seven), which equals ארבעתים (fourteen). And there is also שבוע (week) in feminine, which is written שבועות.
