It is better to be wise, better to be wise until everyone sees his external wisdom, but he walks in his integrity, unwavering in his righteousness and his heart is right, because he has inner spiritual wealth, than someone who is a fool in his inwardness, whose lust rules over him and deprives him of the wealth of wisdom, and he is wise in his inwardness, and he is stubborn with his lips and hides what is in his heart, and with his lips he insists on his inner way as if he loves wisdom. R"l is wise in body and rich in soul than the opposite:
Even if he does not stray from the path through foolishness, only through lack of knowledge, because his soul is without knowledge, it is also not good. Even if he hastens with his feet out of habit and thus strays from the path, he is also a sinner:
A man's path will be crooked, his way and his heart will be angry with the Lord. The Lord prepared man in such a way that he would be able to walk in the way of goodness and life, through the laws of wisdom that He revealed to him, and since he believes in the laws of wisdom, he will walk in the way of goodness and will not be angry with the Lord for not creating a straight path. Only his path and his lack of understanding in the ways of wisdom will cause his path to be crooked, and this path is not attributed to the Lord because it is the path of man on the part of man, and he will be angry with the Lord for not creating him properly and not showing him the good and straight path:
Wealth will add many enemies If you see that the rich have many enemies, they are not the enemies of the rich, only of the wealth that he will add many enemies, as he adds money, so will his friend, and the poor as he parted with his wealth, so will his friend, because most of the enemies and love are the love of oneself, and depend on the wealth that is expected to benefit from it:
A witness to lies. There is a difference between a lie and a falsehood, since a lie is obvious to all and a falsehood appears true at first, and there is a difference between a witness and a liar, since a witness testifies in accordance with the law of complete testimony, and a liar is a weak word, such as one who utters with his lips. He said, "He who testifies in an obvious lie will certainly not be exempt from punishment, and even if he only utters with his lips, not in accordance with the law of testimony, and he also utters falsehoods that appear true at first, 27 he will not escape because in the end he will be revealed as a liar and will be punished:
"Many will welcome the face of a generous person, and all evil will befall the giver - The definition of a generous person is one who gives as is appropriate at the appropriate time to the appropriate person, as to the poor in his time of need. And the giver always distributes, and also to the rich, due to the degree of extravagance.
The generous person has no enemies, because the rich will not be afraid of him because he does not give them gifts. Only many will be pleased with him, who are the poor and the needy, and only many will be pleased, not all, I mean, poor and not rich.
But to a man of giving, everyone is his enemy, poor and rich, and they will also associate with him through flattery, because flattery depends on one's own pleasure, and is not true flattery, as in verse 4.
All of Resh's brothers hated him, even though they distanced themselves from his companion, saying, "What are they?" However, Resh is more than the poor, for the poor will only separate from his companion. And Resh's brothers also hated him, and as for his companion, his enemies certainly hated him because they had already distanced themselves from him. If his close brothers hated him, how much more so did the enemies of those who were far away. And in 27 he was a pursuer, saying, "What are they?" And he said, "They are his, that they belong to him, and they are his friends and lovers."
A heart that loves its own soul is bought. The heart indicates the power of the ruler within a person, and even he who knows the laws of wisdom still does not have his own heart, because desire and wisdom are at war in his heart, and the instinct builds great fortresses within it to conquer the heart under its rule. And he who loves his soul and wants to preserve it from being cut off by the enemy, he buys the heart, as the saying goes.
- (14:33) Wisdom will rest in a wise heart, for by contemplating the ways of wisdom with the power of reason, he will understand its reasons, the war will cease and the heart will be in his possession, and this is called buying, because wisdom is like money with which one buys goods, as in the saying, "Buying wisdom is chosen from money, and with this money one buys the heart that will be his own," and it is interpreted that this is by keeping wisdom, and since sometimes one will seek evil through his understanding, and will understand in false ways and find false opinions, it is said with the condition that one keeps wisdom in order to find good, and it is interpreted that.
A witness to lies will not be acquitted. If he observes and brings out a false thing, because the intellect discerns between truth and falsehood, and bears false witness, such as denying the reality of Hashem or His providence, he will not be acquitted from punishment, and even if he produces falsehoods by misleading assertions, since the lie is not immediately apparent only after examination and examination, he will perish, and in this there is no duplication with what already came in this verse above, verse 5:
Pleasure is not pleasing to the fool. The fool knows the laws of wisdom, but lust has overcome him, wanting pleasure and the pleasures of the world, and this pleasure is not pleasing to him, because although the body may enjoy pleasure, the soul will eventually submit to the lust of the body, and it is not fitting that the body should rule over the soul, and it will submit to the body that was created to be its slave and will remain in its own power. And from this itself he knows that it is not pleasing for the slave to rule over the flesh, because for this reason pleasure is not pleasing to the fool, because the slave body rules over the soul:
A man's mind is long-suffering. From the ways of reason and understanding, he will not immediately take revenge, but will only prolong his anger, as the saying goes: A man who is long-suffering is wise, and a man of understanding will keep silent, and a man who is short-suffering will make a fool of himself. And this a man's mind, R"t. This requires a man's simple mind, because if he wants to take revenge, even his friend will cheer for him and despise him, but he should completely overlook the crime and not harbor hatred in his heart. This is the law of wisdom, and this is the glory of man, since he is religious, and the wisdom of Hashem, and he has good sense in his heart to boast:
A king's wrath is like a kuffar's wrath. When the king is in wrath and sorrow, no one can approach him, like the kuffar when he is in wrath, for the kuffar does not go out on his prey, but devours all who approach his tent. But in time of desire, then it is like dew on grass, which moistens the grass and infuses life into each grass, and each grass in itself, so the dew of salvation will fall around him on all his servants, and all will draw near to the light of his face, and see above.
- (16:14) The wrath of the king of the angels of death:
He was a foolish son to his father and a treacherous womanizer, as already said above.
- (18:25) The son of a fool was angry with his father, and here he said that if a woman's affairs are taken to the son of a fool, then the affairs in the house are like a leak that leaks through the roof into the house and ruins the house. If he leaves the house and finds his son a fool and his evil deeds, then it will be death and ruin for his father, for through the fool the affairs will always be added until he is ruined:
House and wealth are the inheritance of ancestors. The house and wealth will be inherited from fathers to sons. It is inherited from the father and will be passed on to his sons after him, on the condition that if Hashem gives him a wise wife who will succeed her husband and manage the house and wealth wisely, then the inheritance will remain for generations, because the woman is the guardian of the wealth, and she is the one who destroys the house with her hands, as the saying goes: A capable woman built her house, but her hands will destroy it.
Laziness brings sleep, he has already praised diligence several times, and in contrast to diligence he condemned laziness and deceit, and here he said that deceit is worse than laziness, that the lazy person will not starve because laziness brings sleep, and if he falls into a deep sleep he will not need to eat, but deceit, that if he does not obtain his need and he does not sleep, his soul will starve:
He who keeps a mitzvah guards his soul. Before a person there are two paths, the path of life and the path of death, and Hashem knows which path he will take, because there is a straight path before a person, and at the end of it are the paths of death. One must listen to a mitzvah that commands him which path he will take and live, and then he guards his soul. But he who despises his ways and walks in the ways of his heart and the desires of the despised, will die the death of the soul:
The Lord lends to the poor, and his reward will be paid to him. Whoever gives a free gift to the poor with grace is like lending to the Lord, who, in addition to paying the debt, will also pay the reward, since the reward is the admiration of love that will also be paid by the love that surrounded him in his goodness, which is greater than the debt itself (and the Lord lends to the poor, R.L. What the rich have is borrowed from the Lord so that he may be generous to the poor, and with this he will pay the reward to the Lord for the loan):
Chastise your son because there is hope, do not think that there is no hope and that your son has already gone out into a bad culture, and from that, refrain from chastising him, saying that there is hope, and likewise do not refrain from chastising him because he is troubled and crying, do not burden yourself with this either:
He who grows angry bears punishment. The punishment bears the punishment of the one who grows angry. If he is a man who grows angry and angry, he will bear the punishment. By the punishment you punish him, his anger will be appeased. But if you save and do not punish him, the anger will increase even more. And you should discipline your son and do not think that he has no cure because there is hope, and do not bear your soul thinking death of the death of the soul because there is no cure for him. He grows anger The growth that the child will grow on me, butter (L. in the bath of my steps in the heat), the fruit that this growth bears is a punishment, but if you save and empty this fruit, R"L if you wish to remove the punishment, you will add its fruit, and the punishment will increase even more:
Listen to advice, if you wish to gain wisdom, you should listen to advice, as the saying goes: "And listen to the advice of a wise man, and receive discipline." Advice is according to the ways of wisdom, and discipline is from the fear of Hashem and His punishment, and in this you will become wise in the end, and I have already clarified that the latter is about the purpose and the happiness that comes in the latter, that you will know wisdom for the matter that is beneficial to the latter and the final happiness:
Many thoughts in a person's heart, thoughts are what a person thinks about from every possible angle to reach some goal, and they are many, and they are in a person's heart, because he has the choice to choose one from every possible angle, but in this he will not reach the advice that is the correct way that achieves the goal of his desire, and the advice is diligent from Hashem according to His will, and it will be established, because although the choice is in the hand of man, the finality of the deed is under providence, and in general matters on which Hashem's advice will appear, providence will arise and nullify the choice, as it is said in Makkah:
A man's signs are his kindness, the kindness that a man does is what will define him and describe his character, whose inner form is evident by the kindness that will be revealed from him, according to which his dimensions and nature will be recognized, but a false man, who promises kindness and does not do it, is better than him, for it may be that the nature of his soul is inclined to kindness, but the man is clearly false not only because he cannot be shown kindness, but also because he is lying in his belief:
The fear of Hashem is for life and long life, and no evil will befall him. There is a difference between the fear of Hashem and other fears, because fear of the events of the world shortens life, fear will prevent food and sleep, but the fear of Hashem is for life and long life, so that he may eat to his satisfaction and also sleep, because this fear will remove all other fears from him, because the fear of Hashem is certain that no evil will befall him, and no evil will touch him, and therefore he is confident and has no fear of anything, and therefore the fear of Hashem will add days, as above:
The lazy man buries his hand in the plate, and will not bring it back to his mouth, drawing, meaning: The lazy man's desire is to be satisfied because his hands are too weak to do anything, the lazy man's hand is too weak to move, and if the desire of hunger forces him and he reaches for the plate to take food, he buries his hand there to be safe from the urge to move it, and he is afraid to move it from there, and there it will remain, and he will not bring it back to his mouth, and he will be hungry and will not move his hand:
(27-28-27) A liar will be beaten, etc., a father who robs, etc., his son will cease to hear, etc.. Behold, the fool will not return to observe through the rebuke of reason, only through discipline and beating. If he sees that the liar is being punished, he will acquire cunning to understand, so that he will not follow the path of the liar. But the wise man will show him the discipline of the liar, because through the rebuke of reason he will understand knowledge, because he will be seen to say, "Isn't a son disgraceful and disgraceful to his father and mother with his actions, robbing the father and driving the mother away?" And this is enough rebuke for the wise man, so that he does not do this to his children. And you, my wise son, have ceased to hear discipline. You will not have to hear the discipline of the liar because you have misunderstood the sayings of knowledge, because when you take to heart the sayings of wisdom, The mind, which is clarified by the sense of how the son shamefully robs his parents, will already take this to heart, and turn away from their actions:
(28-29) A worthless witness will bring judgment, judges will be prepared for mockers. If you see how a worthless witness who bears false witness mocks judgment, because a judgment is issued to kill a soul without right, like the act of Danboth the Jezreelite, and the mouths of the wicked judges cover the violence, know that there is a judgment and an accounting, Judges will be prepared for mockers, and the wicked will be prepared for blows, false witnesses will judge to do to them as they have planned, and the judges will be punished with blows from heaven:
