Leader: If a man dares to say: “To God’s limits / I shall measure; I shall arrive at His true form;

Cong: I shall proceed to discover the end of His praiseworthiness” – / such a man’s spirit is unfaithful to God!

Leader: He shall be destroyed for he knows not His worth; / for even if he were to tell of God’s greatness until the end of his life, it would be only the beginning.

Cong: And I, this shall not be my path; / I shall not allow my mouth or palate to sin!

Leader: I shall recount to my brethren just a few of God’s ways, / and tell Israel what God has done.

Cong: As it is said: “Say to God: / How awesome are Your works, O God!”

Leader: And You have said: “This is the nation I have created for My sake, / that they might tell all of My name and My glory;

Cong: I displayed My works in Egypt, / that you might tell of My miracles.”

Leader: And I am Your servant, so I shall tell, / as I orate from a book.

Cong: My soul shall laud the power of Your deeds, / and shall praise Your holy name. my very insides

Leader: And I shall bless You all of my tasks; / I shall thank the Lord with all of my heart. with

Cong: High songs to You shall be in my throat, / and my mouth I shall fill with Your praise.

Leader: For my mouth shall relate Your glory, / I shall recount Your splendor always.

Cong: And I shall indeed speak of the might of Your awesome works; / I shall of Your wonders. converse

Leader: And I will recall Your goodness and righteous deeds, / Your kindnesses and Your mighty works.

Cong: I have known that You are great, / You are exalted above all gods.

Leader: For all the gods of the nations are / mute, worthless gods, devoid of all spirit.

Cong: For they do not provide recompense to their worshipers / treat them so well? , so why should they

Leader: And in times of distress they pray, / but they do not answer them because they are futile.

Cong: With all their heart, they seek out that which has no spirit, / while the Lord is close to His closest nation.

Leader: The Creator of all is our God; / He made us and we are His alone.

Cong: We are His nation, His flock, the sheep He tends; / we shall bless His name for His kindness endures forever.

Leader: You were at hand when we were in great distress, / for You have not forsaken those who seek You.

Cong: Your praise is always upon our lips; / we shall forever sing praise to Your glorious name.

Leader: You serve as testimony to Your own glory; / as do Your angelic attendants, and Your servants [Israel].

Cong: For Your glory fills all the world; / Your glory rests upon all the world.

Leader: Our ancestors chose You / alone to worship, without strange gods You. associating with

Cong: Declaring with our lips and hearts / that You alone are our God.

Cong: No wisdom shall ever truly know You; / no knowledge can ever reach understanding of You.
